The impact of digital finance on household insurance purchases: evidence from micro data in China

چکیده

Using panel data from the 2013, 2015 and 2017 China Household Finance Survey (CHFS) digital finance index developed by Peking University, this study examines impact of on household insurance purchases explores its mechanisms. The results indicate that can promote increasing residents’ financial literacy their accessibility to internet services. A heterogeneity analysis reveals has a more positive effect households with fewer assets, lower income located in less rural areas. Regarding type insurance, enhances purchase property life rather than health insurance. regression three dimensions show breadth coverage depth usage have significant impacts digitalisation level. Robustness checks different measures samples, also addressing potential endogeneity using instrumental variable approach, reliability our findings.
